Minchinhampton Common – In the naturally picturesque Stroud area, this beautiful landscape is home to many rare insects and birds. Beneath the common, are the Bulwarks – these are remains of a settlement that dates back to the iron age.

May Hill – This is a prominent point that all those who live in Gloucester can see – it is nearly 1000 metres high, so is a great place to enjoy a bracing walk, which will reward you with fantastic views at the summit – the prefect place to enjoy a frosty clear winters day. You can see over the River Severn and Forest of Dean, as well as to the Black Mountains in Wales from the summit of May Hill.
